MSP Backup is built specifically for Managed Service Providers who need to protect client workloads efficiently and cost-effectively, while reducing operational overhead and improving scalability.
While it's possible to manage Veeam and Wasabi separately, Probax MSP Backup eliminates the complexity, time, and cost associated with doing so.
It offers automated provisioning, simplified deployment, centralized management, and integrated billing—all designed for MSPs.
It's the ideal solution for streamlining operations, improving security, and enhancing service delivery.
MSP Backup can protect physical servers and workstations, virtual machines (VMs), public cloud VMs, and Microsoft 365 services including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
Yes. Probax MSP Backup is designed for MSPs and may not suit non-MSP organizations or those with unique legacy or offline-only backup requirements. It's best suited for cloud-first or hybrid environments where centralized management and automation are valuable.
MSP Backup is capable of protecting both physical and virtual workstations running Windows 7 SP1 or later, as well as physical or virtual servers running Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 or later. Currently, Linux and macOS are not supported.
While Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure utilizes Azure's native capabilities to create share snapshots of Azure file shares, MSP Backup does not currently integrate with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Azure. However, as a workaround, Azure file shares can be backed up by assigning them to a VM that is protected by MSP Backup.

Probax MSP Backup prioritizes system stability and broad compatibility across diverse environments. While the Veeam CBT driver enhances backup efficiency by tracking changed data blocks, it is not installed by default due to potential compatibility issues:
-
Operating System Constraints: On systems like Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, the CBT driver requires the installation of update KB3033929 to support SHA-2 code signing. Without this update, installing the driver can lead to system boot failures.
-
BitLocker Encryption Conflicts: Installing the CBT driver on systems with BitLocker encryption, particularly on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, 2012, or 2012 R2, can result in OS failures due to incompatibilities between the driver and BitLocker.
-
Hardware Encryption Issues: Devices utilizing hardware encryption compliant with the TCG Opal Security Subsystem Class Specification may experience operating system crashes when the CBT driver is installed.
Given these considerations, Probax opts not to install the CBT driver automatically during the deployment of Veeam Agent for Windows.
Manual Installation: If your environment is compatible and you wish to leverage the benefits of the CBT driver, you can install it manually. Please refer to Veeam's official guide for detailed instructions

Yes, immutability is crucial for maintaining data integrity and security in our backup processes. We enforce Object Lock on all Wasabi buckets, which prevents the modification, overwriting, or deletion of specific object versions during a set retention period. This protocol ensures that backups are securely stored. By default, all VAW jobs deployed via Scout are configured with 30-day immutable backups. Although customers can adjust the retention settings, disabling immutability is not permitted.
